  3. Tyler Cowen’s new book – An Economist Gets Lunch: New Rules for Everyday Foodies. It would be great if the menu at the SLS could include barbecue. In Ch. 5 Dr. Cowen writes about how barbeque is the ultimate slow food (it takes hours if not days to prepare properly) and also the ultimate local food (it cannot be successfully mass produced). He also writes about how it is the most native of American foods, dating back to pre-Columbian times.
